Suits that survive the heat
Most suits are built for a temperate day and quietly fail in real heat. A summer suit is a different proposition: lighter cloth, more open weave, less internal structure, all aimed at one thing, staying comfortable when the temperature climbs and the event runs long.
Varrison summer suits are cut in a tailored fit and arrive ready to wear, made from high quality fabric.
What makes a suit a summer suit
Two things, mostly. Fabric and color. Lighter, more breathable cloths such as linen and open weaves let air move and heat escape, which a dense worsted does not. And lighter colors reflect sun rather than absorbing it, which is why summer tailoring trends toward beige, light gray, light blue and stone rather than charcoal and black.
For a summer wedding
This is where most summer suits earn their keep. For a daytime or outdoor summer wedding, choose a light color in a breathable cloth, skip the heavy lining, and lose the idea that a suit has to be dark to be correct. A stone or light blue suit at a garden ceremony reads better and photographs better than a black one, and you will actually be comfortable in it.
Wearing it
Soft-collar shirts, no tie or a lightweight one, and lighter shoes, tan or brown leather, loafers, suede derbies. Keep the whole outfit lighter and softer than you would in winter. Heavy black oxfords fight a summer suit.
